Dussehra Celebration
On 10th October 2024 , the auditorium of G. D. Goenka International School , Greater Noida West, was filled with festive spirit as the school celebrated Dussehra with grandeur and enthusiasm. The students took center stage, presenting a mesmerizing performance based on the timeless epic Ramayana, bringing the essence of this sacred tale to life. The event showcased a variety of dramatic scenes and energetic dance performances, with the students enacting key moments from the Ramayana . One of the highlights was the dramatic Sita Haran scene, where the kidnapping of Sita by the demon king Ravana was performed with emotional intensity, captivating the audience followed by the fiery and powerful Lanka Dahan scene and the Ram-Ravana War, the final battle between good and evil, showcasing the courage and valor of Lord Rama as he defeated Ravana, symbolizing the victory of righteousness.
The students' dedication and talent were evident in their flawless performances, and the beautifully choreographed dances added vibrancy to the event. The event concluded with a sense of pride and joy, as the students and teachers reflected on the significance of the festival and the timeless lessons from the Ramayana.

Teacher's Day Celebration
Teacher's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at our school, with students organizing a heartfelt program to honor their teachers. The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the welcoming of knowledge. This was followed by a soulful prayer, setting a serene and respectful tone for the occasion.
In a special gesture, members of the Bharat Vikas Parishad were present to felicitate the teachers, acknowledging their tireless dedication and contributions to shaping young minds. Their words of appreciation resonated deeply, highlighting the pivotal role teachers play in society.

National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and zeal on 29th August 2024. The day marked the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports organized a Athletic Events, Mini Marathon, Tug of War, Dodge Ball, Kabbadi, Sports Quiz, Taekwondo Training, PT Exercise, for classes Nursery to to VI. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the young students.

Janmashtami
On 23rd August 2024, our school celebrated the vibrant festival of Janmashtami , commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna. The special assembly was conducted by Grade 5 students, and our primary wing students participated in various activities. The event was filled with excitement and devotion, as the primary students took center stage to showcase their talents through a series of performances, including drama, dance, and singing. The young participants, dressed in colourful traditional attire, brought to life the stories of Lord Krishna, enchanting the audience with their enthusiasm and innocence.
The purpose of celebrating Janmashtami with our young students extends beyond just festivity. It serves as an opportunity to introduce them to the rich cultural heritage of India and impart essential values such as devotion, love, and the triumph of good over evil. By engaging in such celebrations, children learn about the significance of festivals, fostering a deep connection with their roots.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Principal Ma’am, Headmistress Ma’am and Coordinator Ma’am for their unwavering support. A special note of appreciation also goes to Chanchal Ma’am, Akhil Sir, Himanshu Sir, Vivek Sir, Anuraj Ma’am, Ishani Ma’am, and all the primary teachers for their dedication and efforts in making this celebration a success.

Martial Arts
We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of two dedicated students from GD Goenka International Schools in the sports category of martial arts.
Shreyash Gupta from Class 10 has successfully qualified for the Brown Belt 3, while Shrestha Gupta from Class 8 has achieved the Brown Belt 2. Their hard work, commitment, and perseverance in martial arts training have truly paid off, setting a shining example for their peers.
These accomplishments reflect not only the studentsโ dedication but also the support and effort put in by our school. Our dedicated sports coach has provided exceptional guidance and encouragement to help Shreyash and Shrestha reach this milestone.
We are also excited to share that Shreyash is considering attempting his Black Belt on the 18th, but the final approval from the relevant authorities is still pending. We hope he gets the green light and can continue his impressive journey in martial arts.
Independence Day Celebration
Our Primary Wing students from Grades 3, 4, and 5 recently participated in various activities celebrating the spirit of Independence Day ๐ฎ๐ณ, showcasing their creativity, knowledge, and love for the nation.
The students of Grade 5 took part in a Poster Making Competition with the theme of Independence Day. They enthusiastically expressed their creativity and patriotism through beautiful posters, reflecting on the significance of this historic day while demonstrating their artistic talents.
In Grade 4, students participated in a Show-and-Tell Activity titled " Bharat se Bharat Tak ," where they beautifully represented various states of India. Through this activity, they showcased the rich culture, heritage, and best cuisines of different regions, providing a vibrant display of our nation's diversity.
Meanwhile, the students of Grade 3 participated in a Slogan Writing Competition , where they crafted heartfelt and impactful slogans that resonated with the spirit of independence and national pride.
Each of these activities provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with the theme of Independence Day meaningfully. They all did a fantastic job, making these events a memorable experience.โจ

Toy Donation Drive on 5th August 2024.
Toys are children’s words and play is their language. Toy donation carried by Goenkan Students. Charity is a supreme virtue and the great channel through which the mercy of God is passed onto mankind. Keeping the spirit of Service and volunteering for a cause our Pre primary students has carried out Toy Donation Drive on 5th August 2024.
Students were made to understand why doing charity or offering donations are an important and integral part of our growing up. Helping needy people through this novel gesture is our duty too and the satisfaction one gets by ‘joy of giving’.
They learned that a small act of kindness can brighten up someone’s day.
Little Hands Activity
Little Goenkan participated in Little hands activity, they have secured certificate and national position holder. Kridha Sharma: 1St position, Dev Bannerjee 2nd Position and Suhani Sharma 4th Position.

Fifth Investiture Ceremony
On July 27, 2024, GD Goenka International School in Greater Noida (West) celebrated its fifth investiture ceremony. The event began with a welcome band and the lighting of the lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana. Distinguished guests included Chief Guest Colonel Sachin Saxena, Chairman Mr. TP Singhal and Director Mr. Pramod Gupta, Principal Ms. Monika Srivastava, Manager Mr. Amit, and Heads (Ms. Rohini and Ms. Deepa).
The ceremony featured a captivating musical performance by ‘Saksham Swaranjali,’ a group of visually challenged individuals. The newly elected leaders—Head Boy Akshat Singh, Head Girl Abhigna, and Sports Head Shivani Singh—were announced. The event concluded with the school oath, the handing over of nomination papers, and the national anthem, instilling a renewed sense of purpose and pride.
Nipun Mela 20th July 2024
Nipun Mela, an eagerly anticipated event at our school was organized on 20th July 2024.This was a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and teamwork. It brought together students, teachers, and parents in a showcase of diverse performances and exhibitions. The air was filled with excitement as pre primary team displayed stalls on all the subjects like Hindi, English, Maths, EVS. Each stall displayed various topics from each subject in a experiential way for example in the form of games, clay modelling, picture identification, real objects display. Various Models on various topics were also displayed.
The mela offers a glimpse into the myriad interests and passions of our school community. Parents enjoyed all the activities and learnt how we can make learning of concepts easier.

WELCOME BACK 2nd July 2024
The students of GD Goenka International School were welcomed back to school after their summer break on 2nd July 2024. The day began with dance and music followed by various exciting and craft activities and fun games. To make their day more exciting a movie screening was organized for the children in the school auditorium. The cartoon movie “The BIG TRIP” was shown. Children laughed and enjoyed the movie. It was a resounding success. It not only helped in easing any first day nerves but also set a positive tone for the rest of the academic year.

To welcome students back after the summer break and help them settle into school, we organized a movie session in the auditorium for our Grade 3 to 8 students. They watched “Toolsidas Junior” during the second half of the day. This heartwarming film depicted a young boy helping his father achieve his dream of winning the Club Snooker Championship. We are delighted to share that the students left inspired and happy, having learned valuable lessons in determination and family support.
ENGLISH MONTH CELEBRATION
Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going.
The students of GDGIS gathered in the auditorium on 29th April, Monday to celebrate the essence of the English language.The occasion was marked by a special assembly organised by Grade IX students that beautifully highlighted the significance of English and its profound impact on our lives.
The students eloquently emphasized how English transcends borders, connecting people across cultures and continents. It serves as a bridge for communication, education, and global understanding.
The spotlight then turned to the legendary playwright, William Shakespeare. The students paid homage to the Bard, performing Shakespeare's iconic play, "Hamlet." With unwavering passion, they brought the characters to life, weaving tragedy, intrigue, and introspection into their portrayal.
The students demonstrated remarkable poise and confidence. Their stage presence, expressive gestures, and clear enunciation showcased their dedication and hard work. The assembly flowed seamlessly, leaving everyone inspired and appreciative. Their celebration of English and homage to Shakespeare, reminded us all of the language's timeless magic.

4th Gautam Buddha District Taekwondo Championship
4th Gautam Buddha District Taekwondo Championship was successfully organized by district taekwondo association on 18th may 2024 Saturday at Malakpur stadium
Students of GD Goenka International School, guided by their coach Ms Anuraj, also participated in the championship. We have brought 8 Gold medals,4 silver and 2 bronze to the school. A winner trophie was also awarded to the school for this outstanding achievement.
This is indeed another golden feather in the cap of achievements of the school.

Library Month 2024
We are delighted to share that GD Goenka International School, Greater Noida West, has successfully concluded our Library Month celebration this May 2024. Gender Sensitivity in Schools

Introduction
The session was started with the introduction of the topic and addressed on, Gender Sensitization is a basic requirement to understand the sensitive needs of a particular gender. It helps us to examine our personal attitudes and beliefs and question the realities that we thought we know. The need for this sensitivity has been felt and realized through times immemorial and in almost all kinds of human existence, across the globe. Recent discourses focus upon the need to sensitize gender issues in schools as many believe that education is the catalyst for change. The session was to enable the students to become aware of their own understanding on Gender .
INNO VIBE EVENT
Students of G.D.Goenka International School participated in an inter-school event INNO VIBE held at The Millennium School, Greater Noida west, on 3rd May 2024 aimed at centered around promoting awareness and action towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event aimed to address the global challenges faced by the world today while fostering a sense of responsibility towards building a more sustainable future.

Our school's project on renewable energy solutions received recognition for its innovative approach and potential for scalability.

At Gd Goenka International School, Kp 5 students and staff came together to celebrate the vibrant and dynamic art of dance on International Dance Day. 1st State Roller Skating Championship 2024
The Rural Games Organization of India (R.G.O.I) hosted the 1st State Roller Skating Championship 2024 with great enthusiasm at DPSG International School, Ghaziabad, on February 4th, Sunday. This thrilling event witnessed remarkable performances by young skaters from across Uttar Pradesh.
With great pride, it is our pleasure to announce that our students Thiya Kukreti (Grade 1), Aayush (Grade 3),Gurisha (Grade 3) and Lavanya Kukreti (Grade 7) have won a GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE medal respectively.

19th Bruce Lee Gold Cup Taekwondo/Karate Championship 2023
19th Bruce Lee Gold Cup Taekwondo/Karate Championship 2023 held at Shalimar Garden, Ghaziabad, UP on 24th December, Sunday. We are extremely proud of Virat Sharma of Grade 3 for winning the Gold Medal in Karate and Harsh Biswas of Grade 9 for winning the silver medal in Taekwondo. The students were felicitated by our Chairman Shri. T.P Singhal along with Tushar Sir, Amit Sir, Principal Ms Monika Srivastava and school manager, Mr. Amit Sharma. Our special thanks to our Taekwondo coach, Ms Anuraj who prepared them for the match whose hard work has been paid off. Keep up the good work and continue to make us proud!
CBSE Cluster 2023 (Taekwondo)
GD Goenka International School was honored to be associated with the CBSE Cluster Taekwondo tournament, where six students had the privilege of competing -Harsh Biswas, Vidhisha, Vrinda Mehta, Khushi Saini, Shreyash Gupta and Mahika Saxena.
A great deal of pride is felt for Harsh Biswas' achievement in winning the Silver Medal at the level above 78 pounds - (under 17).
As a token of appreciation and congratulations, Chairman T.P Singhal Sir, Principal Monika Srivastava and Tushar Gupta felicitated all the participants and presented Harsh with a cash prize and appreciation certificate.
A special recognition was given to Ms Anuraj, our taekwondo coach, for her guidance in leading the students to these great accomplishments.
